Migration Express Safari

  • Destination: Kenya
  • Duration: 7 days

The Wildebeest Migration is a natural phenomenon that takes place in Masai Mara annually. This amazing event occurs every year in the Months of May and August. Millions of wildebeests, zebras and other types of antelopes start the journey from Serengeti National Park to Masai Mara during this period. The animals start arriving in Masai Mara in July to August. This is usually as a result of decreased food supplies in the Serengeti. This is a grueling journey for the Wildebeest as it has to escape the lurking predators such as Crocodiles, Lions and Cheetahs. It also has to avoid the stampede on the Mara River. October to November is when the short rains begin to fall in the south and east Serengeti, so the herds start to leave the Masai Mara, crossing the Mara River yet again, bringing all the same perils as before. They head slowly back to the Serengeti’s eastern plains. By the time they arrive it will be February and the cycle is complete. Arrival at the calving grounds marks the end of this, and the start of the next year’s migration. The Migration Express Safari is Spectacular thrilling adventure for any Safari Purist. This is a safari that you should plan at least once in your lifetime.
